TASK

Record your lyrics at home using AUDACITY, or any audio recorder in your BlackBerry cell phone, iPad or iPhone.

Using Audacity:

1-Connect your headphones to your computer, then open and play your song link below:

abetterworldproyect.mp3

child health group alejandro andres.mp3

marianne marco mauricio.mp3

gabriel_rap.mp3

Leonardo Sofia Monique.mp3

roberto,alma and valeria.mp3

2-Open your lyrics in Google Docs (Drive). Make sure you know which part you're singing.

3- In a different window, open Audacity.

4-Press the record button in Audacity, then start playing your song in this window.

5-Sing your lyrics. They should be recording in Audacity.

5- Press STOP in Audacity when you're done recording. Press pause in the player in this window so you can hear the lyrics by themselves. Listen to your audio to check if it's good to use. If it's not good to use, erase your track and start over (the track can be erased by pressing the little 'x' in the upper left hand corner of the track.) If it is good to use, save your Audacity file (File>Save As. This is for your archives). Then, EXPORT your song in either .AIFF or .WAV format (File>Export).

6-Save your exported file in a Flash USB drive, or email it to yourself as an attachment, so we can open them in school and add them to your Garageband project here.

IF YOU RECORDED YOUR AUDIO USING ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN AUDACITY, MAKE SURE YOU CAN GET THE FILE OFF YOUR DEVICE, EITHER BY EMAIL OR BY A USB CABLE.

GROUPS WHO ARE RECORDING LYRICS TOGETHER WILL GET A CHANCE TO RECORD NEXT WEDNESDAY IN CLASS TIME. PLEASE BE PREPARED, MAKE SURE EVERYONE IN YOUR GROUP IS AWARE OF THE PART YOU ARE SINGING TOGETHER.

PLEASE, ALSO START BRINGING IN PROPS (clothing, toys, accessories) WHICH YOU MIGHT WANT TO USE IN YOUR MUSIC VIDEO. WE CAN KEEP THOSE SAFELY FOR YOU HERE IN SCHOOL UNTIL YOU'RE DONE WITH THE PROJECT.

Remember: don't despair if things don't work out at the first try; all good things are worth the time and effort! If this is too complicated for you, we can help you in class time or after school, but please let us know! We cannot guess who is having problems or who isn't.
