Summary:
Our project was on children HIV/AIDS. What we did with the sad information was we made a rap about children. One of us made the music, another did the pictures for Blabberize and another, the lyrics to the rap. More than 1,000 children are affected with HIV everyday. Let us use the resources we have to stop HIV/AIDS from spreading.

‘cause it can be passed on to them in different ways

They’re born with it (born with it) from their mothers and their fathers
it’s in their heritage

Reflections:

At the beginning if this project I did not know anything about AIDS. I learned that this is a huge problem in the world and it affects millions every year. ART is a treatment that can slow down the affects of AIDS and keeps the immune system working for as long as possible. Maybe one day there will be a treatment that stops AIDS. I also learned that working with people is not easy. In my group there was a lot of fighting and it was my job to calm the people down. It was all so frustrating. But I learned to pick my battles, so we would not fight too much. The tools on the computer I was in charge of was making the background music. I did not know how to use any of the tools on aviary.com but I learned how to listen to the clip and piece them all together to make an awesome song. This project was a learning experience all around.

At the beginning of this project, I had no idea of the great impact AIDS has on the world. Throughout the process, I learned the causes and effects of AIDS, mainly resulting in death. I was especially interested in the children affected with AIDS and how hundreds of them are affected everyday. Thousands die as result of AIDS and so far we have found no cure. By the end of this project I was happy we decided to do AIDS, because I have learned about a world wide disease that hurts many people.

We worked in a group of three for this project. From the beginning of this group project I had a tough time. I am still learning how to work in a group and I get frustrated easily. By the end I felt a lot better about the project and thought that we did a great job even though we had a rough start!

Throughout this project we used a lot of programs that were new to me. Most of all we used Camtasia. This was the first time I had ever worked with Camtasia. I learned how to import music, import videos, and how to put together both a still and picture and picture video. It was a lot of fun learning how to use these tools. I hope I will be able to use these tools again in the future!

I learned a lot about this rap. I learned how to add pictures to the video from online, learned how to use blabberize and how to use the snowflake for the rap. I learned even more about working in a group. I learned how to listen to everyone’s opinion. I also learned that everyone has a specific job to do and to do it. A big thing I learned is how to work together to get work done. I have learned some sad information about HIV/AIDS. I learned that this is a serious problem and we need to help. Tons of kids have aids and could be very sick if they do not get help. With the resources we have, we could end aids.
