Reflections
William:
In this project I learned a LOT. I learned about MORPHO and how to use it. We recorded in it, I am not sure if it is in the video. I could of made the picture in MORPHO better, mad it more realistic. Samantha did the MORPHO but the photo was of me. But we did good on it. I also learned a lot about Maternal Health. For instance 35000 women died giving birth. And that young woman gave birth, even if they didn’t want to. I thought that that was terrible. I wanted to donate when I learned about it. I think everybody should. Also I learned a lot about teamwork and working together. It was nice to have someone help me with the rapping. Also we could have made the chorus longer. I wrote it longer but we didn’t have enough time to do it in the song. But I think we did a great job. I worked with Charley and Samantha, my name is William.
Charley:
I learned a lot about maternal health during our computer project. Our project was to make a rap about maternal health. I learned how important maternal health is. For example 35000 women die during childbirth over a year. Also I learned that the costs of childbirth can quickly exhaust a family’s income. In the second verse of the rap I learned that for six years we've been teaching teens what to do and the death rate has gone down. In the third verse of our rap we learned that in 2008 258,000 woman died.
I used a lot of technology in making a rap about maternal health. I used Audacity to put all the loops I found together into a song for the rap. The computer I used was a Dell computer. I used Google docs to hold all off the facts we found. I used a flash drive to take the song off the computer and onto a different computer. I also used Morfo to record the rap part of the song.
I think William, Samantha, and I worked together very well. We all did our Job and helped each other when one of us was stuck. We did not fight. We knew right away who was going to do each part of the project. When William needed help with the rap I helped him. When I needed help using the flash drive Samantha helped me. Over all we worked very well together.
We did some things very well in the project. One of them was the music. I worked very hard on putting the loops together and working on the reverb and echo. We also did very well on the video. Samantha worked very hard on the video and it paid off very well. William worked very hard on writing the lyrics. He did a very good job and writing lyrics is very hard.
There was a couple of thing that I thought we could have done better. One of them was the recording. When we recorded the lyrics we sounded all fuzzy like bad radio reception. Another one was our Google docs page. Our Google docs page was very messy and hard to understand. These are things I think we could have done better.

The topic for this project was maternal health; maternal health is a serious problem that is happening all around the world. Many women die from bad health conditions surrounding their pregnancy. Some mothers can’t afford to take care of a baby. Another problem is that there are birth defects that cause the young infants to die after birth. The death rate has dropped since the 90’s. Mothers have infections that cause them or their baby to die.
The technology that I used was Google docs, Audacity, and coral video studio. I used Google docs to collect information the struggles of maternal health, Charley used Audacity to make the music for the video, and I also used coral video studio for making the video.
The people I worked with were Charley and William. Charley worked on the music, William worked on the rap and the lyrics. And I was left to do the video. Working with the boys was fun; they all did their part in the project. Even though it was hard sometimes to get through to William, I would work with them again, if I was allowed.
What we did well was working together and being a team. We worked on everything together. Everyone helped each other, even when another person in the group needed help. What we need to work on is listening to each other, and communicating. We have to stay focused, and stay on top of work. Meaning we have to keep up with the group.
